As of March 24th, 2020 we know:
COVID-19 (a coronavirus disease) is an infectious disease caused by a new virus. The disease causes respiratory illness (like the flu) with symptoms such as a cough, fever, and in more severe cases, difficulty breathing. You can protect yourself by washing your hands frequently, avoiding touching your face, and avoiding close contact (1 meter or 3 feet) with people who are unwell.
COVID-19 spreads primarily through contact with an infected person when they cough or sneeze. It also spreads when a person touches a surface or object that has the virus on it, then touches their eyes, nose, or mouth.
THE BEST PREVENTIONS FOUND so far is in strengthening your Immune System. Eating Kale, Berries, and Plums in a daily diet. Taking Zinc, NAC, and Echinacea supplements daily. And drinking water every 15 minutes when in a contaminated area. If you think the area is contaminated then drinking water there in 15 minute intervals will help reduce the chance of the virus reaching your lungs from your throat. It will get washed down to the stomach and killed.
The virus has to be inhaled into the lungs. The best ways to prevent this would ideally be with an N95 mask. Other PPE or Personal Protection Equipment that are supposed to be supplied by any or all employers if necessary are gloves, body suits, and goggles. This would all help prevent infections even if not at work. When walking through crowded places or tight spaces having on an N95 mask and gloves should be the basic protection gear.
If the virus gets to the face, lips, or mouth and reaches our throat, drinking water throughout the day and taking zinc lozenges when feeling a scratchy throat can help get rid of the virus before it has the chance of reaching our lungs.

With COVID-19 being so contagious, it should be the norm to take as much precautions and preventions as possible. This will make all the difference in cutting down and stopping the spread of the virus. Using Lysol and or Hand Sanitizer with 70% alcohol will kill the virus on contact. It would also be wise to wipe down all materials coming into your house from outside such as groceries, mail, footwear, and anything that may have come across cough droplets or infected surfaces.
The time that it stays on surfaces varies:
2-8 Hours on Aluminum
8 Hours on Surgical Gloves
48 Hours on Steel
4 Days on Glass
4-5 Days on Paper
5 Days on Plastic
